Giveaway: Eternal Creation
Win a shopping voucher to spend – wherever you are in the world!
One night in Bondi, Sydney, Australia, Frances Carrington met her future husband-to-be, Rory, at a party. They fell head over heels and he followed her to live in Dharamsala, India, a spiritual melting pot of cultures and home to the Dalai Lama. Rory was a freelance animator and decided to give it up for a life in the Himalayas, where Frances had been living for six years. She had moved there in 1995 for a volunteer placement working with Tibetan refugees, but she fell in love with the area and decided to stay and start her own clothing label, Eternal Creation, to support the Tibetan and local Indian communities. Twelve years on and two children later, Frances and Rory run this highly respected Fairtrade-certified clothing label, which can be found in stores worldwide and is regularly featured in magazines like Studio Bambini.
As Eternal Creation fast became a popular label, Frances went against the trend in a highly competitive market – rather than outsource production, she expanded her workshop. This decision has created secure jobs with excellent working conditions for more than 60 Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim artisans and Tibetan refugees. Today, Eternal Creation is one of the area’s largest private employers.
All Abroad Baby became a big fan of Eternal Creation when my little man’s godmum gave him a pair of their dungarees as a present (that’s All Abroad J wearing them, below). They were fully lined and the quality of the workmanship was obvious as soon as I’d unwrapped them (not to mention how cute he looked in them!). I adored them so much that my little man wore them until they looked ridiculous because he’d grown so much his ankles popped out the bottom!
Eternal Creation is giving away 2 x $50 AUD shopping vouchers to spend in their store. To be in the running do the following:
